Credits: 3 An introduction to the moist lowland forest of the American tropics, including the ecological functions that maintain the ecosystem, biological diversity, adaptations and interrelationships of species, threats to the ecosystem, and possibilities for management. Course will include pre-trip lectures and a one-week field trip to the rainforest of the Peruvian Amazon. Offered as needed.
