ANTH 4003 - Early Cultures of South and MesoAmerica Credits: 3 Lecture Hours: 3 Laboratory Hours: 0 Introduction to the major early cultures of South and MesoAmerica. The course first looks at the earliest occupants of Mexico, Central America, and South America and their development from archaic cultures into farming societies. Then the focus shifts to the social, political, economic, religious, and architectural foundations of the major civilizations, including the Olmec, Maya, Toltec, Mixtec, Aztec, and Inca. Offered as needed.
