INTR 1320 - American Sign Language I Credits: 3 Lecture Hours: 3 Laboratory Hours: 0 An introductory course in American Sign Language designed to develop basic receptive and expressive language skills. Emphasis will be on development of appropriate handshapes and movements necessary to produce accurate signs. Student will learn basic language structures, acquire a working vocabulary and knowledge of sentences, phrases, and appropriate non- manual behaviors in ASL. The use of the voice by instructor and students is held at a minimum. Offered as needed.
