Adapted Physical Education (Grades 1-12) Certification

The Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Adaptive Physical Education allows individuals who are already state-certified Health and Physical Education teachers to complete the coursework required for add-on certification in Adaptive Physical Education (Grades 1-12).

• EDCI 2700 - Characteristics of Exceptional Students  Credits: 3
• KINS 2540 - Adapted Physical Education  Credits: 3
• KINS 3502 - Tests and Measurements  Credits: 3
• KINS 3513 - Introduction to Motor Learning  Credits: 3
• KINS 3546 - Perceptual Motor Development of Individuals with Special Needs  Credits: 3
• KINS 4535 - Methods for Individuals with Physical Disabilities & Other Challenges  Credits: 3
• KINS 4540 - Curriculum Development for Adapted Physical Education  Credits: 3

Graduation Requirements

• a grade of “C” or higher in each required course

Requirements for State Certification

• be certified to teach Health and Physical Education in the State of Louisiana
• have completed all graduation requirements for the PBC in Adaptive Physical Education (Grades 1-12)
