The BS in Computer Science provides students the opportunity to gain competence in evaluating complex computing problems and identifying their solutions. Computer Science majors will sharpen their analytical skills in general and become proficient in such areas as computability, information, automata, algorithm design, software, networks, data analysis, and computer systems security. They will be prepared to pursue graduate or professional studies or embark upon a career in a wide range of companies, educational institutions, or government agencies.
Student Learning Outcomes

Graduates will be able to apply knowledge in programming, mathematics, data structures, and algorithms, to solve a variety of computational problems.

Graduates will be able to apply knowledge acquired in key discipline areas such as computer organization and design, software, and databases, to design, implement, and evaluate computer-based systems.
Admission Requirements
Students must meet all requirements for admission to the university. The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science has no separate or special admissions requirements.
Degree Requirements

Students must complete all of the requirements pertaining to baccalaureate degrees as prescribed in Degree Requirements.

Students must complete at least 30 hours at the 3000-level or above, at least nine of which must be at the 4000 level.

Students are required to make a grade of “C” or higher in all courses in the Major Requirements section of the computer science curriculum.
