MATH 4700 - History of Mathematics Credits: 3 Lecture Hours: 3 Laboratory Hours: 0 This course will have substantial mathematical content. A survey of mathematics from ancient times. Topics include early Greek mathematics from Euclid to Archimedes; the beginnings of algebra and geometry; the calculus of Newton and Leibniz; and various other topics. Offered as needed.
Prerequisite(s): a grade of “C” or higher in MATH 1550 , MATH 3040 , and MATH 3085 .
