 Practitioner Teacher Program |

				The Practitioner Teacher Program allows prospective candidates who hold a teaching position or letter of intent for employment from a parish school board to become certified to teach in one year. Graduates of the program are awared a post-baccalaureate certificate from the unviersity. Admission Requirements
	
	possess a non-education baccalaureate degree from a regionally-accredited university;
	hold a current teaching position or possess a letter of intent to hire from a school district;
	have a cumulative 2.5.GPA on a 4.0 scale on all undergraduate coursework;
	pass PRAXIS I Core Academic Skills: Reading, Writing, and Mathematics. (Master’s degree applications are exempt from the PRAXIS I requirements); and
	Pass PRAXIS II: Content Knowledge (content-specific area) examination. Graduation/Certification Requirements
	
	complete all coursework with a grade of “C” or higher;
	pass PRAXIS II: Principles of Learning and Teaching (PLT). Total Credits: 21-24

 Note: students following PreK-3 track should take ECED 2001
