EDCI 4041 - Secondary Methods II (Biology) Credits: 3 Lecture Hours: 2 Laboratory Hours: 3 Integration of standards-based planning, research-based pedagogical and management practices, assessment roles, and selected materials, methods, and technologies for the purpose of preparing teacher candidates to become proactive biology/life science teachers who positively impact student learning in varied and multicultural junior high and high school settings. Inquiry-based instruction and science lab safety are emphasized. Field mentors, university content professors, and education faculty collaborate to guide and critique the planning and implementation of candidates’ biology/life science lessons. Offered SP.
Prerequisite(s): a grade of “C” or higher in EDCI 3040 and admission to the Professional Teacher Education Program; or permission of the chair of the Department of Education.
